Blinking slowly, you glanced up, your spoonful of chocolate ice cream only halfway towards your mouth. A distinct ringing cut off the pleasant sounds of tweeting birds and rustling trees, much to your annoyance.
Although you nearly dropped the spoon when you realized that, instead of Mark, it was that monochrome lookalike with red and cyan colors outlining his body, as though he was 3-D.

It's been a month or so since your agreement with Dark to help him in his "quest" to regain Mark's trust in him.
So far, the demon was doing surprisingly well, as he had managed to control his ever-fracturing shell to the point where it rarely ever cracked now. Mark, however, still showed reluctance in trusting his darker half, which you could understand, as it would take a lot of time before he could do so.
